文学その3

『青空文庫』にある作品を『Google Translate』で英訳してみました。

俳人蕪村:正岡 子規(729-804)/1055

あるいは思ふ、「なつかし」といふ形容詞を転じて蕪村の創造したる動詞にはあらざるか。

Or, I wonder if it is a verb created by Buson by changing the adjective "nostalgia".

果して然りとすれば蕪村は傍若無人の振舞を為したる者といふべし。

In the end, Buson is said to be an unmanned person.

しかれども百年後の今日に至りこの語を襲用するもの続々として出でんか、蕪村の造語は終に字彙中の一隅を占むるの時あらんも測りがたし。

However, even today, a hundred years later, there are many people who use this word, and Buson's coined word was finally measured when he occupied a corner of the vocabulary.

英雄の事業時にかくの如き者あり。

There is such a person at the time of the hero's business.

 蕪村は古文法など知らざりけん、縦し知りたりともそれに拘らざりけん、文法に違ひたる句

Buson knows old grammar, etc., and even if he knows it vertically, he is obsessed with it.

更衣母なん藤原氏なりけり

Changing mother, Mr. Fujiwara

の如きあり。

There is like.

我宿にいかに引くべき清水かな

How should Shimizu be drawn to our inn?

の如く「いかに」「何」等の係りを「かな」と結びたるは蕪村以外にも多し。

In addition to Buson, there are many people who connect "how" and "what" with "kana".

大文字や近江の空もたゞならね

If the capital letters and the sky of Omi are also

の「ね」の如き例も他になきにあらず、蕪村は終止言としてこれを用ゐたるか、あるいは前に挙げたる「たる」「なる」の如く特に言ひ残したる語なるか。

There is no other example such as "ne", and Buson uses this as a cadence, or is it a word that is left behind, such as "taru" and "naru" mentioned above?

縦令後者なりとも文法学者をして言はしめば文法に違ひたりとせん、果して文法に違へりや、将た韻文の文法も散文の如くならざるべからざるか、そは大に研究を要すべき問題なり。

In the latter case, if you are a grammar scholar, you will not be wrong with the grammar, and the grammar will be wrong, and the grammar of the general verse must be like prose, which requires a lot of research. It's a problem.

余は文法論につきてなほ幾多の疑を存する者なれども、これらの俳句を尽く文法に違へりとて排斥する説には反対する者なり。

I have a lot of doubts about grammar theory, but I am against the theory that these haiku are dismissed as grammatical.

まして普通の場合に「ならめ」等の結語を用ゐる例は『万葉』にもあるをや。

In addition, there is an example in "Manyo" that uses a concluding remark such as "Narame" in normal cases.

二本の梅に遅速を愛すかな

Do you love slow speed for two plums?

の「蘭夕」の連続の如き、漢文より来りし者は従来の国語になき句法を用ゐたり。

People who come from Chinese, such as the series of "Ranyu" in the above, use phrases that are not in the traditional Japanese language.

これらは固より故意にこの新句法を造りし者、しかして明治の俳句界に一|生面を開きし者また多くこの辺より出づ。

These are the ones who deliberately created this new haiku method, and the ones who opened their lives to the haiku world of the Meiji era, and many of them came out from this area.

Buson believes that he will make a fox ghost, or he likes to listen to this kind of story even if he does not believe in the vertical order. There are not a few people who write foxes.

A lot of wide place names such as state names and country names are used.

I think that Kikaku's phrase is more like a quest for something strange.

蕪村はこれを巧に用ゐ、これら不浄の物をして殺風景ならしめざるのみならず、幾多の荒寒凄涼なる趣味を含ましむるを得たり。
