○ Hiroshige Ritsusai is a landlord among Ukiyo painters.

The landscape painting is catching a place unknown to others.

In particular, in order to draw the scenery of a famous place, the actual feeling must first appear, and secondly, the scenery must be a little interesting and artistic.

Hiroshige has been successful in paying attention to these two articles.

In this respect he has already proved that he is not a mediocre painter, but besides Naho he knew perspective.

That is, he knew that something close would look big and something far away would look small.

This is something that everyone knows, but there is nothing else like Hiroshige that actually appears on the picture.

For example, the large lantern at the Kannon Gate in Asakusa is very large, and the main hall is small toward the other side.

The procession of rakes in front of me is very large and hot, the Owashi Shrine is small in the distance, and the ferry of the armor is very large and hot, and it is stored in the direction of the rake. Is written small.

The fact that the perspective is remarkable, large and small, is almost unheard of in Japanese painting.

Maybe Hiroshige invented it by looking at Western paintings.

Anyway, it is regrettable that he couldn't get rid of Ukiyo-e at all while having a worthy painting talent.

The fact that you do not take off the ukiyo-e means that the brush has a profane spirit.

○ To see what is called Hiroshige's "Kusabushi-gafu" * Sai's * Sai is not as novel as the abbreviation style, but it is well done.

Now, when I find the two volumes of "Kusabushi Gafu" and look at them from the beginning, I feel a little bit, so I'm not necessarily saying that they are reviews of the paintings, but let's list them one by one.

Every New Year, we give a bamboo basket with seven herbs planted from the foot of the mountain, so if you think that this is a new taste of a gardener in the Meiji era, this "Kusabushi Gafu" (Kaei) The same kind of picture appears in (published in Sannen).

Something small is planted in a bamboo basket with three legs, and four or five wooden tags are standing in it, and there is a battledore beside the basket. Looking at it, what is planted in this basket is no different from the seven herbs.

Such a nifty gift seems to have been hot in Edo for a long time.

There is a picture of Kameido Shrine in the same book, but this is only a torii and a shrine, and there are a grove and a river next to it.

By the way, there are no houses in the vicinity, and it seems that the situation has changed significantly from now.

In the same book, a girl's flower is drawn in just two inches.

One or two of the flowers in the front are the upper half of the grass, that is, the place of the flowers.

Now, in the back part of the picture, that is, the upper part, there are a few pictures of the lower half of the Jorohana, that is, the lower stems and leaves.

I think this is an extremely rare way of painting, and it is Hiroshige's invention, or it may have been painted by Korin, or it may have come from Western painting.

In the same book, there is a picture titled Otsukihara, which is where the mountain range that rushes in front is long and sideways, and a large Fuji appears in white on it.

Fuji's paintings are obsolete and lie, but it is rare that Fuji's big feeling is well expressed without a special combination like this painting.

There is a picture of cormorant fishing in the same book, which is that one cormorant fisherman on a boat holds two cormorant ropes in his left hand and swings a pine fire in his right hand.

I don't know enough about cormorant fishing, but I think I can't pull up the cormorant rope with this, but I wonder if there was actually a way to do it.

○ Until now, I had misunderstood the fact that Zen Buddhism was loosely enlightened.

It was a mistake to think that enlightenment was to die in any case, and enlightenment was to live in peace in any case.
